What do you think is the best thing about working at Espresso House?

What I like most about working at Espresso House is that I feel that my work is valued and that we are encouraged to develop and challenge ourselves. I have had chaperones at EH who have genuinely wanted the best for me and who have supported my development.

What kind of development opportunities has Espresso House offered you?

I started at Espresso House as a Barista in 2018 and as a Barista, I developed from being an insecure and shy Barista to the point where I started to love working days with lots of queues and noise in the café and a drinks menu full of drinks to order.

I started as a Coffee Shop Manager in 2022 and soon after I got another opportunity to manage two small units in Helsinki. Being in charge of two cafés offered a whole new set of opportunities and challenges, and taught me a lot about what it means to be a manager. After this instructive period, I was given more responsibility in different projects at EH and now I am the Coffee Shop Manager of one of the biggest cafés in Helsinki.

Who would you recommend the job of a Coffee Shop Manager to?

I would recommend a job as a Coffee Shop Manager to people who like challenges and varied tasks and who have a passion to develop as a front person. You also need to like responsibility and be willing to commit yourself to the job.

Develop yourself, your team and your Coffee Shop

Together with your Baristas, Hosts, Shift Leaders and Assistant Manager you will run the daily business according to our values and culture. In the role you will have a unique opportunity to develop yourself, your team and your leadership skills every day. The role includes responsibility for tasks such as supporting your team members, onboarding of new hires, and ensuring good and safe work environment.

Hi colleague!

A Coffee Shop Manager spends most of the time in the Coffee Shop with his/her colleagues. Internal communication will be a natural and big part of your job. You will manage communication both face to face when working with your team on a daily basis, and on our digital platform Workplace by Facebook.
