Tomorrow Friendly
Our Approach
Sustainability is integrated into how we run our business, from strategy and governance to daily operations across our coffee shops, roastery and bakery. We focus on areas where our value chain has meaningful impacts and where better data, transparency and due diligence can strengthen decisions over time.
Our Coffee
We source most of our specialty grade coffee from South and Central America. Through Johan and Nyström, our specialty roastery, we develop our coffee range with a strong focus on quality, traceability and longterm relationships with producers. The roastery plays a central role in shaping our flavour profiles and ensuring that craftsmanship and responsible sourcing remain closely linked.
In 2025, we roasted approximately 1,500 tonnes of specialty‑grade coffee, equivalent to around 140 million cups served across our markets. Coffee is not only about the final cup. It is also shaped by the people, environments and communities behind it.
All our coffee is 100% responsibly sourced through independent verification by Enveritas.
From Crop to Cup
Coffee is one of the most influential parts of our value chain and understanding how it is grown and processed is an important part of our sustainability work. Conditions vary considerably across coffee producing regions, and farmers face different environmental, social and economic challenges. Because of this, there is no single approach that applies to all origins. To strengthen transparency and improve our understanding of conditions at origin, we work with Enveritas, an independent non profit organisation that conducts on the ground assessments in coffee producing areas. Their verification covers social, environmental and economic factors and supports our risk based due diligence across the coffee value chain. Enveritas is accredited under ISO 17065, which reinforces the independence and quality of their verification processes. All our green coffee is 100% responsibly sourced through independent verification by Enveritas. These insights help us better understand risks, local conditions and opportunities for improvement, together with producers and trading partners. Our green coffee buyer visits several of the farms we source from each year. These visits complement the verification work and support long term relationships with producers. More information can be found in our Sustainability Report 2025.
Animal Welfare
Cage-free Eggs
Animal welfare is an important consideration within our sourcing practices. While plant‑based options continue to expand across our menu, some products still contain ingredients of animal origin. For eggs, we source whole eggs and egg ingredients from cage‑free systems. By the end of 2022, all whole eggs used in our operations already came from cage‑free environments.

Here are some highlights from our sustainability work during 2025, as described in our Sustainability Report.
Responsible sourcing: We continued to strengthen responsible sourcing practices. Our collaboration with Enveritas provided origin level insight and supported due diligence across the coffee value chain.
Environmental initiatives: We advanced our environmental work through initiatives focused on waste reduction, packaging improvements and energy efficiency across coffee shops, the roastery and the bakery.
Double materiality: We integrated the results of our updated double materiality assessment into strategic planning. This helped identify the most significant impacts, risks and opportunities across our value chain and guided prioritisation of actions.
Governance and data: We strengthened governance structures and internal data processes to further support ESRS aligned reporting and improve the accuracy and quality of sustainability data.
