Cinnamon Bun Day, 40,000 buns and a latte twist

On October 4, Scandinavia celebrates one of its most beloved traditions: Kanelbullens dag (Cinnamon Bun Day). For Espresso House, the day is not only about honoring the classic pastry – it’s also about reimagining it. This year, the celebration goes even further with the Cinnamon Bun Latte.
Last year, Espresso House guests enjoyed more than 40,000 cinnamon buns in a single day across markets.
“Nothing says Scandinavian comfort quite like the cinnamon bun. By pairing it with our seasonal Cinnamon Bun Latte, we’re inviting our guests to enjoy the tradition in a new way – warm, indulgent, and perfect for fika,” says Enni Anttonen, Commercial Manager, Espresso House.
The cinnamon bun has been a staple of Scandinavian coffee culture for over a century, symbolizing togetherness and the cherished ritual of fika. With its spiced flavor and sweet aroma, the bun continues to win hearts well beyond its Nordic roots.
This year, Espresso House will once again mark October 4 with freshly baked cinnamon buns across its coffee shops – keeping a Nordic tradition alive and growing.
